We schedule outpatient appointments Monday through Saturday at our office in Tualatin, located next to the Emergency Veterinary Clinic of Tualatin.

For urgent cases, same-day appointments may be available but do not appear online, please call to inquire.
We offer online scheduling for the following services:

  • Abdominal ultrasound includes: imaging of the liver, spleen, kidneys, adrenal glands, urinary tract, reproductive organs, gastrointestinal system, and internal lymph nodes
  • Thoracic (chest) ultrasound includes: lungs, mediastinum, internal lymph nodes, and associated masses/tumors
  • Cervical (neck) ultrasound includes: thyroid/parathyroid, salivary glands, lymph nodes, and masses/tumors in the underside of the neck/lower jaw
  • Multiple cavity ultrasound: any two of the above areas
  • Follow-up fine needle aspirate: For patients that have had an ultrasound with VDIC (within 2 months) where a fine needle aspirate was recommended but not completed the same day.

Please call our office at 877-751-VDIC (8342) to schedule the following services:

  • Echocardiogram (heart) includes: a comprehensive image study of the heart function and anatomy. We only perform echocardiograms on cat and dog patients that are at least 2 years old. Images are collected by our sonographers and then sent to a board-certified Veterinary Cardiologist for review and final report.
  • Musculoskeletal ultrasound includes a comprehensive image study of the muscle/tendons in the area of interest. Pre-approval is required as ultrasonography may not be as helpful as another imaging modality. A referral summary and radiographs must be submitted for preliminary Radiologist review before appointment approval.
  • Ocular ultrasound includes a comprehensive image study of the ocular cavity.
  • Exotic and pocket pets: ferrets, rabbits, guinea pigs, and some reptiles. We do not see birds.

Our appointments are drop-offs, meaning your pet will spend a few hours (we estimate between 2-4 hours) with our team to complete the entire process. We require most pets to fast for 12 hours prior to their appointment. Once scheduled, you will receive confirmation and details for your appointment via text and email, including how to prepare your pet for their ultrasound, fasting instructions, what to expect during the procedure, and pricing. We will contact your referring veterinarian to ensure our team is well prepared for your pet’s visit.

What to expect at your appointment:

When you arrive, a veterinary technician will get you checked in and answer any questions you have about the ultrasound procedure. Then your pet will be brought into our ultrasound suite where our doctor will perform a physical examination and assess how they are doing that day. If needed, a sedation protocol will then be created and administered by our team.

During the ultrasound your pet will be placed in a soft, comfortable positioning device. We will then need them to lay fairly still and relaxed for the ultrasound which will take about 30-45 minutes. In most cases we shave the haircoat at the location of the ultrasound exam in order to obtain better images and a more accurate diagnosis.

Once the scan is completed, our doctor will review your pet’s case and reach out to discuss our preliminary findings with you – either in-person or over the phone. They will also let you know when to return for pick up.

After your pet’s visit with us, a copy of our report is automatically sent to your veterinarian. All follow-up care and treatment will be managed by your referring veterinarian.
